What I Wore: Exploring Paris

what I wore in Paris

I had a great time relaxing in Paris earlier this month – I spent the week walking the city, eating and drinking with friends, and exploring the many opportunities that the weak Euro offered. I didn’t pack that much so my outfits were pretty simple, and this one was probably the one I reached for the most – denim, oxford shirt, and a flannel sportcoat.

For me, this jacket is an excellent option for taking something casual and adding a bit of refinement. I often reached for this combo over the past two years when I needed to elevate my appearance a bit but didn’t feel like changing out of the pants that I was already wearing. The brown/gray color, faded large-scale pattern, and textured fabric put it right at home with worn jeans and suede shoes.

And as for the boots – this was my first time traveling with the Meermin City Chelsea boots, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. They are very comfortable, flexible, lightweight, and super versatile to boot (sorry). The fact that I don’t have to re-tie laces after security is an added bonus, so I’ll definitely be packing these with me in future trips.

All in all, I’d say that the light packing on this trip worked well for me. I didn’t really need anything beyond what I had so I will likely be doing similar iterations of this for future trips.
