What I Wore: Cold Snap

It was weirdly cold in San Francisco last week – not nearly as cold as most of the northern hemisphere right now, but colder than usual. The temperatures have been in the 40s (even dipping into the 30s at night!), which has allowed me to wear some pieces of mine that don’t get the attention they deserve. The colors here are a bit darker and more saturated than what I normally wear, but I think it suits the style. I also like how the swaths of navy from the coat and denim is cut through with red tones from the sweater, boots, and donegal flecks.

The star here, of course, is the single-breasted overcoat from Eidos. It’s made up in a wonderful donegal tweed from Molloy & Sons, which is a fantastic textile mill with a great product and great story. It’s one of my favorite pieces, and I only wish that I could wear it more often.

One funny note about this fit is that both the overcoat and shetland sweater were designed by Antonio Ciongoli, albeit 5 years apart – he designed the coat while working at Eidos, and the sweater while working for Michael Bastian. Small world!
