If you’ve been paying much attention to the #menswear world in the past month, you’re probably aware that the much anticipated brand 18 East recently launched. This menswear line is the brainchild of Antonio Ciongoli, who left Eidos last year after re-launching the brand several years ago. Like many others, I was a big fan of his work at Eidos and have been excited to learn more about his new project. And fortunately for us Californians, we’ll have an opportunity to see everything in person next week.
The MUJI Suitcase got an Upgrade
After writing the post on my new MUJI “hanging case” dopp kit I was informed that the much-loved MUJI carryon had recently gotten a few upgrades. Given the tight competition in this market (and Away’s rise to the position of “instragrammer’s choice”) I thought it would be worthwhile to visit their San Francisco store and learn more about the changes. Here’s what’s new: […]
Wind-Up Watch Fair Coming to San Francisco This Weekend
If you have any interest in watches you’re likely familiar with Worn & Wound, an excellent source for information on a huge number of wristwatches and related content. Like myself, they tend to focus on products that provide a good value rather than on brand name alone. I’ve been a reader of theirs for years and […]
FSTB Turns Six
On my way back from Hawaii earlier this week I realized that my blog-iversary was over the weekend – this site is officially six years old. That’s definitely much longer than I ever expected it to last, so I figured I’d take a moment and reflect on that and look towards what’s next. […]

$100 off $300, $200 off $500 with code SP18BC – In a rather convenient turn of events given my recent post on where to buy penny loafers, Brooks Brothers is offering what is likely one of their best sales of the year. $200 off of $500 is a very strong 40% off, and although $300+ spent […]

Their list of brands tend to cover a large spectrum, from fashion houses to niche manufacturers, so there’s almost always something for everyone. They also offer free shipping and returns, along […]

Good news for all of you that just got tax refunds – I’m clearing out quite a bit of stuff from my closet that wasn’t getting the attention it deserves. There’s quite a broad range of styles and sizes – workwear and eveningwear, dress shoes and loafers. Many items are priced low to move quickly, so act fast if you’re interested. […]
It’s On Sale: Allen Edmonds Seconds ($325 Shell Cordovan)
Allen Edmonds seconds are almost a rite of passage into the menswear world – it’s just about the least expensive way to get in to a nice pair of welted shoes. Finding shell cordovan shoes on the cheap is not as common, however. […]
It’s On Sale: My Stuff
Update: prices have been dropped. I’m doing a bit of closet cleaning, so if you’re a similar size to me you may be in luck! Current shop items include two awesome Suitsupply sportcoats, as well as shoes from Alden and Epaulet. There may be more to come, so if you know we’re similar sizes and […]
It’s On Sale: Loake Footwear
Kinda feels like this is a blog about shoes lately, hasn’t it? It’s juste a coincidence, I promise. Anyway, here’s a noteworthy sale for those that don’t like spending $500+ on footwear but still like nice things (a group that includes myself). […]
