With the recent passage of Memorial Day Weekend, we’re officially in white pants season (not that I ever really paid attention to that rule to begin with) – I took the opportunity to bring out some new and old favorites for the warmer spring weather we’re currently enjoying.
First, there are my trusty old loafers and white chinos, both of which were ebay finds from my early, thrift-y days. Both of these have been with me since before I even started this blog and have outlasted many wardrobe thinnings because they’re some of my favorite pieces. The chinos are frayed and stained and the loafers are in desperate need of a resole, but I have no intention of letting them go any time soon.
The sportcoat is a made by Suitsupply from a wool/silk/linen fabric from E. Thomas, in that popular guncheck pattern that everybody’s been loving for the past couple of years. I was eyeing it when it was released in their 2016 collection, so when it was on sale for $150 last year I had to grab it. The shirt is a breezy cotton/linen oxford from the guys at Proper Cloth, featuring their unlined Roma cutaway collar.
San Francisco summers are notoriously ‘meh’ when it comes to weather, so I’m doing my best to enjoy these surprisingly seasonal moments while they last.
