Tomorrow my girlfriend and I are heading to the mountains to spend a few days in Santa Fe with my good friend Gus. We’ll be hunting for vintage apparel and jewelry, meeting with local artisans and collectors, and will undoubtedly be enjoying some margaritas and hatch chilis along the way. This feels like the ideal time to pull out all my western-inspired gear and go “full yee-haw” for a long weekend.
The temperatures are quite cold there currently, at least compared to what I’m used to – snow is falling and it’s unlikely to be much above freezing for most of the trip. Packing a bit heavier is unavoidable, but all the layering will hopefully make for some great style points. I’ll be posting about what we find in Santa Fe on my Instagram, so check that out for the hourly cowboy content. Here’s what I’m bringing:
- A big, oversized coat
- Western-inspired, mega-chunky belted cardigan
- Denim and flannel shirts
- 501s
- Crewneck sweater
- Chunky sunglasses
- Suede chelsea boots
- Alpine boots
- Thick wool socks
- Suede trucker jacket
- Gloves, scarf, and beanie to keep the cold at bay
