During my trip to New York last month I was able to make a quick stop at one of the new menswear hangouts in New York City – Carson Street Clothiers. For those of you that aren’t familiar, Carson Street Clothiers is a store that was founded earlier this year by several renowned members of the menswear community. It’s a handsome shop with a wide variety of men’s clothing and accessories; there are rows of unstructured blazers and wool trousers mixed in with high-end t-shirts and denim. It’s a nice blend of styles that will appeal to a variety of demographics.
I was immediately impressed with how much of the stock bears the name of the store; it’s clear that the guys are working hard to create items that are unique to their company and embody the aesthetic of their store. They’ve also been able to secure great items from some very elite and exciting brands – Eidos, Ovadia & Sons, and Guy Rover come to mind, but there are many more.
I wish I had been able to spend more time in there, but unfortunately my schedule didn’t allow for it. It was great to speak with Brian Trunzo, albeit briefly, and get a better feel for what the store has been up to and what to expect in the future. If you’re in the area I recommend that you stop in and say hello; if you’re not a New York City native then be sure to take a gander at their web store.
