Last week I left San Francisco and embarked on a bit of an adventure. Due to a flexible work arrangement and a general fatigue of SF, I decided to head out of town for a while to give myself a change of scenery. I’ll be in and around Amsterdam for the next 6 weeks, and will be making some shorts trips while I’m over here. If you want to see a bunch of pictures of narrow houses and Dutch apple pie, follow along on Instagram.
Do you have any recommendations for Amsterdam or the surrounding areas? Send them my way. Do you live in the area and want to meet up? Hit me up! I don’t know a soul here.
With that said, here’s what I brought:
- Waxed cotton jacket
- Navy overcoat
- Brown flannel herringbone suit
- 3 oxford shirts and 2 sport shirts
- Chinos
- Broken-in denim
- T-shirts
- Longwings
- Captoe boots
- Shetland sweater
- Scarf
- Leather gloves
- Cashmere hat
I packed fairly lightly for this trip – since I’ll be doing laundry anyway, I didn’t feel the need to bring as much as possible to extend my clean clothing runway. I also packed a small weekender bag inside of my larger luggage so that I can easily pack for short trips to the surrounding locales.
So far, the only thing I miss having is a pair of sweatpants (!) – on these chilly autumnal mornings, it would be nice to have something a bit more comfortable than a pair of cold jeans to greet me when I wake up. Fortunately, there is plenty of shopping here – including the birthplace of Suitsupply – so I should be fine.
